Intrigue in the Realm
Ember Days is a roleplaying game based on Exalted by
White Wolf∞, running the first edition rules with some houserules, custom charms and content here and there.
For those of you familiar with Exalted, this is a game for Dragon-blooded PCs, and is set in the Realm five years after the disappearance of the Scarlet Empress. The game is combat light and largely focuses on political intrigue, investigation and espionage, social interaction and ultimately... IF they survive that long... uncovering the secrets of the Realm and its government.
Starting with a high-profile gala in the Palace of Undying Embers in Tuchara, a lethal attack on the guests and wedding party alike leads the PCs to investigate on behalf of the mother of the bride, Greater Senator Sesus Alon. Their efforts lead them -- not without casualties -- to the Imperial City, hot on the trail of a man they know as Bal Jakuro, and later on as the enigmatic and many-faced Laughing Jackal. At the same time, tensions among the Great Houses of the Realm rises as rumors of the Deliberative, currently headed by Senator Alon, indicate that they are progressing with alarming haste towards a vote that will determine the Empress's successor. Civil war is on the horizon, and Jackal's hand may very well be the one tipping the scales... or only one hand out of many.
This is to be the "official" Ember Days page, where I will be gradually putting up information about the game itself, characters and events, and possibly wikified logs (but don't count on it.)
